R and R

The last two weeks at work have been insane to say the least. They were weeks where I didn’t feel like I even had a moment to stop and breath. So, to say the least I was really looking forward to the weekend. Friday night was a blast, tried out a new local sports bar, played some pool, and enjoyed time with friends. Saturday was busy, but a truly great day. We started out the morning going to the sports show; where we dreamed of boats to buy and I didn’t want to get out of the black tahoe on display. Then, we watched the KU game at Johnny’s, ending the night with poker. Last time we got first and second place, but this time we didn’t come out so lucky. But, it was still a blast to get to see spend time with friends, family, and get another KU basketball win!

Now, we have Sunday. Sunday could possibly be my favorite day of the week. It is the one day where I usually try to keep things unplanned, fun, and relaxing. Getting to sleep in felt great, but what was even better was being able to lay around on the couch, watch football, and doze off without any pressures of having to be somewhere. If there is one thing I have learned as of recent it is that – everyone needs to take time to just do nothing. Rest and relaxation is so important, it makes you feel refreshed and ready for another upcoming week. Day to day life is often crazy, full of never-ending technology, and rushing from place to place. But, at the end of the day it is still critical to take time to re-energize and make some time for yourself.

I encourage you to take a day and just relax and not commit to anything. It is amazing how it makes you feel!
